Musicians raise funds for Jefferson City Jazzfest
JEFFERSON CITY - Musicians from all over Missouri will flock to Jefferson City Thursday night for Jazz Jam to raise money for Jazzfest. The Jazz Forward Initiative with Jeff Bassinson, Al Green and other musicians will perform at the Mission to raise money for the Jazzfest in September.
Jefferson City's Jazzfest is free to the public and Jazz Forward Initiative says it would like to keep it that way.
"It will be the 23rd annual Jazzfest, and we want to at least double that number," said Jeff Bassison director of Jazz Forward Initiative. "We would appreciate any donations, but anyone can come listen to the music."
The Mission will showcase talents from local Missourians that perform all over the country. Performers said any musician is welcome to join in.
The Jazz Jam will start at 7:30 and all donations will go to the Jefferson City Jazzfest on September 6.
