MVC Volleyball Raises Money for Susan G. Komen
MARSHALL, MO -- The month of October is labeled as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the Missouri Valley Lady Viking volleyball team did their part to help this important cause.
The Lady Vikings recently held a "pink out" game to help raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research. In their victory over Benedictine Oct. 23 the Lady Vikings and Lady Ravens wore special pink uniforms for the match. The Lady Vikings also threw out pink volleyballs to spectators and had pink rally towels available upon donation that night. The Lady Vikings were able to raise $300 which was donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
"I really appreciate everyone who came out and supported our team and our fundraising effort," MVC Head Coach Brett Holt said. "The entire volleyball team and coaching staff worked hard at making this event happen and to collect donations for breast cancer research. Because of the turnout and great support for the event, we plan on making the pink out match an annual part of our volleyball schedule."
