MARSHALL, MO -- The Missouri Valley women's soccer team was able to get their match in with Benedictine College Saturday evening, but severe weather forced the postponement of the men's match.
The Lady Vikings were down early to No. 25 Benedictine College, but fought back to tie the game up at 1-1 with about 17 minutes left to go in the first half.
That's how things would stay, forcing the match into overtime, and despite some close chances for both teams, the game would end in a 1-1 draw.
The draw moves the Lady Viking's record to 7-5-1 overall and 2-1-1 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play. Benedictine now has a record of 13-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 in HAAC play.
The men's game between No. Missouri Valley College and No. 14 Benedictine College was postponed due to severe weather in the area. The game will be played Monday at 6 p.m. at Gregg-Mitchell Field.
