OSAGE BEACH - Residents of Missouri have a new option when scheduling their yearly doctor check up.

The Boone Medical Group clinic in Osage Beach officially welcomed the public to their ribbon cutting ceremony Friday morning.

The ribbon cutting and open house allowed the public to visit the new clinic, which includes 14 patient and pediatric exam rooms in a 6,400 square-foot space.

Boone Medical Group runs 15 clinics throughout Mid-Missouri, but the new clinic in Osage Beach is the only clinic in the Lake of the Ozarks region.

Doctors Paul Bernabe, MD and Maria Bernabe, MD will both manage the clinic as primary care physicians. Both physicians have practiced medicine for more than 20 years, including the last 12 years in Eldon, Mo.

"It's important that we focus on the wellness of the whole family," Dr. Maria Bernabe said, "it will stream into the children, parents and the grandparents. We will be preventing the need for specialty care later on, however if that has to happen, we have that backup."

Jim Sinek, president of Boone Hospital Center, says the Boone Medical Group is trying to provide high quality healthcare, but with convenience.

"We're trying to make high quality healthcare convenient for people who live in the lake region," Sinek said, "People like having choice, they like having the opportunity to select not only the Bernabes, but the connectivity to Boone Hospital Center."

Sinek said what makes the new clinic a great center for health is there are so many specialists who can schedule appointments for other specialities which they may not specialize in themselves.

"People who maybe they come and see Dr. Paul Bernabe, and they need to see a cardiologist or urologist, they might be able to schedule that specialty appointment with the cardiologist or urologist with Dr. Bernabe," Sinek said.

The new Osage Beach clinic is located at 929 Highway D. connected to the Osage Beach HyVee. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 573.392.5606.
