New Carrier May Fly to Columbia
Trans States Air will soon discontinue its three daily flights to St. Louis, so Columbia needs another air service.
Regions Air wants to keep flying to St. Louis, but with four flights instead of three. Mesa Air wants to offer four flights to Kansas City, or two to Kansas City and two to St. Louis.
Passengers say they would like a choice of cities.
"I think it would be better to go to Kansas City and St. Louis or probably just St. Louis," said Christi Bergin. "If you only went to one or the other, because there are more flight options out of St. Louis, I would like to see it stay the way it is now or to go to both places."
Other passengers at Columbia Regional like the convenience.
"My husband doesn't see well," explained Jane Whissman, "and we don't like being out on the highway."
The Federal Aviation Administration ordered Trans States Air to continue service to Columbia until another carrier takes over.
