JEFFERSON CITY - On Wednesday night the Jefferson City Council plans to hear proposals from two private companies regarding a new conference center.
One proposal will be heard from Farmer Holding Company and the other proposal will be heard from Ehrhardt Hospitality Group.
The Farmer Holding Company's plan includes about 130 hotel rooms and a 20,000 square foot conference center on Country Club Drive near Capital Mall. The estimated cost of its plan is $24 million.
Ehrhardt's plan would put the conference center and the hotel in downtown on McCarthy Street. Ehrhardt wants a 30,000 square foot conference center. Its plan would cost an estimated $36.8 million and is said to be completed by summer of 2015.
Both of the plans show the hotel and the conference center attached and as a Marriot Courtyard.
They City proposed to contribute up to $9 million for the project.
