New exhibit brings education to Washington Fair
WASHINGTON, Mo. - The fair in Washington was about more than funnel cakes and roller coasters; a new exhibit brought an educational aspect to the event.
The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation brought more than just an exhibit on wheels to the Washington Fair. The foundation's mission is to honor the sacrifice of Stephen Siller who was a firefighter that saved others on Sept. 11, 2001 and lost his life in the process. Along with honoring Stephen's memory, the foundation honors our military and first responders who continue to make sacrifices for our country.
A field consultant for the foundation said the exhibit has been to 28 states and they plan to continue to spread their message. There is only one van right now, but there are plans to create another soon.
Through rain and shine people have come to the exhibit; sometimes more than once. When you walk inside there is information about what happened on Sept. 11 along with items from the attack.
This addition to the fair will be on the move shortly, though, as the exhibit's next stop will be in Minnesota.
