New rankings released for Lincoln University's track and field teams
COLUMBIA – The United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s Division II rankings were released Tuesday afternoon. The Lincoln University men’s track and field team is ranked third in the country, while the women’s team is ranked sixteenth.
The women’s team is the MIAA’s second-highest rated program. The team received 67.76 points this week in Division II ratings. The men’s team won the MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship this past weekend. There, the team broke two meet records and won six events. The Blue tigers tied with Central Missouri for the league championship at the meet. The team is also one of five MIAA programs ranked in this week’s USTFCCCA Top-25.
The men’s team now awaits how many entries it will have in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships, which will be held in Bradenton, Florida from May 25 to May 27.
