COLUMBIA - A new restaurant opened in downtown Columbia last week. Thip Thai Cuisine opened its doors Monday and according to the restaurant, so far business is great.

"Columbia is a nice town, I see a lot of diversity. I think the restaurant will do well here," said owner Kitt Chompupong.

The restaurant originally opened in Arkansas but Chompupong decided to open a location in Columbia.

The restaurant currently has several open positions which it is looking to fill. Chompupong said the restaurant is looking to hire 8 additional people in order to accommodate more customers.

The restaurant plans on having a grand opening ceremony in the next couple of weeks.
