New trial underway for accused kidnapper Brian Adkison
CHILLICOTHE - The retrial of accused kidnapper Brian Adkison began Wednesday in Livingston County. There, he's accused of kidnapping, domestic assault and violation of a protection order from Caldwell County. The case was moved to Livingston County on a change of venue.
Jury selection was completed Wednesday morning and the trial began shorty after.
The judge declared a mistrial in February in Livingston County on the same charges.
Adkison stands trial for allegedly taking his ex-girlfriend without her consent while she was walking. Court documents said she jumped out of the truck while he was driving and then he picked her up and put her back in the truck. It said she then found a screwdriver and stabbed Adkison in the neck.
In January, Adkison's trial in Boone County was also declared a mistrial on two of three counts including burglary, rape and deviate sexual assault.
