JEFFERSON CITY - Sebrina Barrett took over as Executive Director of the Missouri Bar Tuesday, following the retirement of Keith A. Birkes.

Barrett had previously served as the Deputy Executive Director of the 30,000 member statewide organization, which dedicates itself to improving the legal profession, the law and the administration of justice for Missourians.

Before retiring, Birkes had served in the role for 27 years. The previous Executive Director, Wade Baker, also served 27 years. Barrett was selected in 2010 to succeed Birkes and joined the staff in early 2011.

Barrett received her undergraduate degree from MU and graduated first in her class from Southern Illinois University School of Law. Barrett lives in Columbia with her husband and two children.
