Nixon Announcing Funding for Southwest Missouri Projects
JEFFERSON CITY (AP) - Gov. Jay Nixon scheduled a trip to southwestern Missouri on Thursday to announce funding for a wastewater treatment plant and for bike and pedestrian trails. First on the schedule was a visit to Joplin to discuss a loan from the state Department of Natural Resources for improvements at the Turkey Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The governor was expected to tour the facility. Nixon was moving on to Springfield to announce grants for new biking and walking trails in the city and at Bolivar, Rockaway Beach and Table Rock State Park. Those grants also come from the DNR.
