Nixon Continues to Refuse Comment on Asia Trip
JEFFERSON CITY - For the second straight day, Governor Jay Nixon has refused to comment on the surprising cancellation of his planned trip to Taiwan and South Korea.
After presenting an award to a World War II veteran at the State House news conference Tuesday, Nixon immediately went back into his office and did not address the media directly.
Nixon spokesman Scott Holste also refused to answer any questions when confronted by KOMU.
Other Nixon spokesmen told reporters that the Governor will continue to deny any comment on the matter.
Nixon's office released a statement on Friday saying the Governor's trip to Asia trip was canceled due to "travel challenges."
