KANSAS CITY - Gov. Jay Nixon is getting ready to announce he's backing President Obama's health care law.
Nixon will hold news conferences Thursday at hospitals in Kansas City, St. Louis and Springfield. Officials form the Missouri Hospital Association and Missouri Primary Care Association will join the governor as part of a new coalition urging Missouri to expand Medicaid eligibility.
Nixon campaigned on expanding Medicaid in 2008 when he ran for governor, but he hasn't spoken on the subject yet this year. Republicans in Missouri continue to oppose the expansion.
