COLUMBIA, Mo. - Senior Marla Schweisberger hit a first inning two-run home run and redshirt sophomore Chelsea Thomas combined to throw a shutout with junior Kristin Nottelmann as the No. 13 Missouri Tigers (17-3) took down the Southern Illinois Salukis by a 3-0 score on Wednesday afternoon. Missouri tacked on an unearned run in the third when Megan Christopher drew a bases loaded walk, plating Ashley Fleming who reached on an error with one out. Nicole Hudson and Maddison Ruggeberg also walked before Christopher came to plate, loading the bases.
The Tigers put their 14-game winning streak on the line this weekend when they host the Wilson Classic, welcoming North Dakota State, Western Michigan and Minnesota to University Field. Action gets started for Mizzou at 1:30 p.m. CT on Friday against North Dakota State.
