COLUMBIA – Missouri Wrestling added yet another impressive label to its 2017-2018 campaign as seven Tigers received national rankings per the NCAA Coaches Panel rankings.

Jaydin Eiermann received the highest honor of the bunch, earning the number one ranking in the 141-pound weight class. Eiermann, a redshirt sophomore from Columbia, is one of four Tigers on the year with at least 20 wins and received the NCAA Wrestler of the Week for the week of Jan. 31.

Going 23-1 overall and 14-0 in conference duals, the 2017 All-American also earned MAC Wrestler of the Year last year and MAC Freshman of the year.

At the 149-pound class, Grant Leeth has fought his way up to number three. Leeth, a redshirt junior from Kearney, MO, has racked up multiple wins over top-ranked wrestlers in his class. That includes a thrilling 3-1 win over then No. 3 wrestler, Justin Oliver of Central Michigan. That victory helped seal the MAC regular season championship for the undefeated Tigers.

The biggest shock of all may come from No. 4 Daniel Lewis. Lewis has had the season of his life, going 24-0 this season and holding two All-American titles (2016 and 2017). Lewis also leads the team in falls (14) and dual points (81).

The only thing holding Lewis back in the competition in front. The top two wrestlers in the class are also undefeated (Zahid Valencia and defending national champion Mark Hall) and Bo Jordan, the number three wrestler, only holds one loss, which comes courtesy of Mark Hall.

The other Tigers rounding out the list include No. 7 Joey Lavallee (157-pound), No. 9 Canten Marriott (184-pound), No. 10 Willie Miklus (197-pound) and No. 19 Connor Flynn (165-pound).

The Tigers have two more duals on the road, at SIU-Edwardsville on Feb. 14 and Northern Iowa on Feb. 17. That comes right before the MAC Championships in early March before Nationals in Cleveland, Ohio.
