North Callaway has no business hanging their heads after the 2010 season, finishing 6-4 during the regular season with a tough playoff loss to a very skilled and potent Bowling Green team. It was the Thunderbird's first playoff game in over five years since they moved to Class 3. However, this ball club is certainly capable of better results, especially as players spend their 2011 pre-season battling it out for key competitive positions. With summer camps finishing up, veteran Head Coach Mike Emmons wants to build and maintain that momentum well into the season as they look to compete in the fierce Class 3, Mid-Mo Conference. Furthermore, he would like to build some depth as 20 lettermen return, eight of which are returning starters. The Thunderbirds number one strength this year will be their size, something they have lacked in previous years. Utilizing this strength along with creating and maintaining a balanced offense and defense, should fuel their opportunity for a successful 2011 season as they clash against such newbie powerhouses as Southern Boone and rival South Callaway.
