Obama to Offer Quicker Payments to Small Business
RALEIGH, N.C. - Small businesses that are owed money under government contracts will get that money more quickly, under a plan being announced today by President Barack Obama during a visit to North Carolina.
The government currently has 30 days in which to make those payments, but the White House says Obama wants that cut to 15 days.
He's visiting a machine company to promote the jobs plan he outlined to Congress last week. Obama is highlighting the help he says his plan would extend to small businesses.
The head of the Republican National Committee, Reince Priebus, says Obama's travels around the country to build support for the jobs bill are campaign events masquerading as official business. He says Obama is "in love with campaigning."
