Official: 9 dogs killed in fire near Ash Grove
ASH GROVE (AP) — An official said nine dogs have been killed in a house fire west of Ash Grove.
The Springfield News-Leader reports the fire happened around 4:30 p.m. Thursday at a large three-story farmhouse.
Ash Grove firefighter Tony Monnig said one adult, four children and three dogs were able to escape. No injuries were reported.
An Ash Grove Fire Protection District representative said nine dogs died in the fire.
According to Monnig, the fire is under investigation but there is no indication that the fire is suspicious.
