Officials Investigate Train Crash in St. Louis Suburbs
MAPLEWOOD, Mo. (AP) -- An investigation continues into the crash of a train and a tractor-trailer in suburban St. Louis.
A man sitting in his pickup waiting for the train to pass suffered minor injuries in the accident that happened Monday morning in Maplewood.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the truck got stuck on the tracks and the train struck the rear of the tractor-trailer, sheering off the door of the trailer.
The tractor-trailer then lurched into a pickup waiting at the crossing signal, injuring a 40-year-old man who was a passenger in the pickup.
Union Pacific spokesman Mark Davis says no one on the train crew was hurt.
