Officials search for missing woman in Boone County area
BOONE COUNTY — The Missouri State Highway Patrol issued an endangered person advisory for a woman on Monday.
According to MSHP, no one has seen Shelly Overstreet-James, 51, since Sunday. That's when she was released from the Mid Missouri Mental Health Center and returned to her home in Harrisburg. According to authorities Overstreet-James tried to cut herself with a knife before leaving her home. They also say she has depression and anxiety.
Overstreet-James is 5 foot 3 inches tall, 160 pounds, and has brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing red hospital scrubs.
She drives a red 2004 Pontiac Grand Am with Missouri license plate MN5W5Z. The car was last seen at 12705 Highway YY in Harrisburg, Mo.
The Boone County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information about Overstreet-James to call 911 or the Boone County Sheriff's Office at 573-875-1111.
