One Beach Reopens, Another Closes Again Due to Bacteria
JEFFERSON CITY - The swimming beach at Trail of Tears State Park reopened Wednesday after bacteria levels dropped below the Department of Natural Resources acceptable limit. Meanwhile, the Grand Glaize Beach at Lake of the Ozarks State Park is closed due to high bacteria levels.
The water at all designated beaches in the state park system is sampled weekly during the recreational season by the DNR.
Once the DNR determines bacteria levels are within the standard suitable for swimming, it will reopen Grand Glaize Beach.
