One of region's biggest employers hires more workers
COLUMBIA - One of the area's biggest employers held a job fair Wednesday in hopes of hiring new employees for four different businesses.
Officials from MFA Oil interviewed over 100 candidates Wednesday at its office in Columbia.
Positions were available at Jiffy Lube, Break Time, and Big O Tires stores across the mid-Missouri, as well as at MFA Oil's corporate office on Stadium Boulevard.
"We've had a really great turn out today," said Tom May, the Director of Employee Relations for MFA Oil.
Officials said they were looking to hire between 25-30 people between the four businesses, and all of the new employees will be staying in mid-Missouri.
The new Break Time gas station on Grindstone Parkway is the major driving force behind Wednesday's job fair.
"We need to fill the positions for that new store, as well as some open positions we have throughout the rest of the community," May said.
Officials hoped to fill all of open positions with candidates interviewed during the job fair Wednesday.
