COLUMBIA - One person was taken to the hospital Wednesday after a two-car collision on Rock Quarry Road.

A car heading north lost traction while driving down a hill and collided with another car heading south shortly before 10 a.m. The collision ripped the front left wheel off the car traveling south. The driver of the southbound sedan was transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

The crash prompted police to divert traffic on Rock Quarry for a short time. It's unclear if the morning's rainy weather was a factor in the crash.
