Osage Beach Homicide Investigators Awaiting Autopsy Results
OSAGE BEACH - The death of 21-year-old Adrianna Hyten has been labeled a homicide, but Osage Beach Police are waiting for confirmation on the cause of death. Police expect the autopsy results to come in as early as Tuesday.
"Because of the nature of the crime, the nature of the crime scene and the nature of the injuries, we are treating this as a homicide case," Osage Beach Chief of Police Dave Severson said.
Hyten was found dead in her apartment Sunday morning. Her roommate, Gregory George, called police to report the incident. George was also at the scene when police arrived.
Now police are questioning George as a person of interest. He is a registered sex offender who is being held on charges related to a probation violation.
"Chaos. Craziness. Intenseness," neighbor Chrissy Young described the scene, "I woke up, came down and went to let my dog out. I saw firetrucks and caution tape. They asked me to go back inside, so I did."
Osage Beach Police currently have about a dozen detectives working on the case, along with forces from Lake Ozark.
"I wish it never happened but, unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about it," Young said.
