Osage Sex Offender Missing
People who live and work in the area don't know how this happened but know they need to be on the lookout. Fifty-two year old Parsons disappeared from a transitional living facility in Osage Beach earlier this week.
Five-year-old Katie is not very worried about her safety, but her dad is making sure that she is safe.
"I've taught my daughter to stay near me at all times and I do not let her out of my sight when we are doing anything in public," Rick Streb said.
Streb's concern is heightened now that a convicted child sex offender is on the loose. Osage Beach police officers said some offenders like Paul Parsons are not kept under strict scrutiny.
"If they don't report or they aren't where they are supposed to be, then it's a violation of probation, but the ones that are not on probation aren't checked on typically," said Osage Beach Police Chief David Severson.
Though their neighborhood seems quiet, Streb is going to make sure Katie can continue playing.
Parsons is listed on Missouri Highway Patrol's sex offender registry.
