Parts of Boone County under boil water advisory
BOONE COUNTY - Boone County Consolidated Public Water Supply District No. 10 announced Saturday morning that parts of Boone County near Centralia are under a boil water advisory until Tuesday, Dec. 29 at 3 p.m.
The advisory affects customers on Grassland School Road, Audrain County Road 997/Rangeline Road (South of Centralia), Selby Lane, Gano Chance Road, Audrain County Roads 906 and 995 (Panther Ridge Subdivision).
Officials advise customers to turn off their ice maker and not use ice from them until the advisory is over. They also advise to bring any water consumed, that includes brushing your teeth, to a boil for 5 minutes.
Dishes should be disinfected for at least 1 minute in clean tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water.
Although water for hand-washing or bathing does not need to be boiled, children should be supervised while bathing so water is not ingested.
Officials encourage customers to contact the water district at (573) 682-5314 if they have any questions.
