Pay Raise for Some CPS Employees
COLUMBIA - More than 450 Columbia Public School employees will soon be bringing home a larger paycheck.
The Columbia School Board voted Monday night to give a pay raise to para-professionals, custodians and nutrition science teachers. They can expect about a 6.5 percent salary increase.
The pay raise will cost the district about $540,000 more per year, but that figure is less than half of 1 percent of the district's overall budget of $160 million.
