COLUMBIA - The mid-Missouri Peace Coalition plans to sign their own declaration of independence today.
Organizers plan to issue a "Declaration of Independence From a War Economy."
They say they're upset about perpetual war and militarism.
Peaceworks director Mark Haim says the declaration is for creating a sustainable peace economy.
The gathering will be in front of the Boone County courthouse at 1 p.m.
