COLUMBIA - Pet-Mo, the personal energy transportation chapter in Columbia, Mo., celebrated its 15th anniversary today at Stephen's Lake Park.

Members welcomed back 14 volunteers who traveled to Guatemala to give out pets and wheelchairs.

Through the help of Pet-Mo, 24,000 leg-handicapped people in 86 countries now have a pet.

Pet-Mo also unveiled the Carl Edwards special pet, and a few took it for a spin.

Bobby Golebiewski, a volunteer, said that he believes that Pet-Mo is a great cause that helps many people live a better quality life.

"Just the ability to change someone's life. There's literally people crawling on the ground. Giving them an opportunity to go and sell things in the marketplace and raise their family the way they should be able to. It's just a great cause. That's something I want to be a part of," Golebiewski said.

Ms. Wheelchair USA, a mid-Missouri resident, also showed up to support the cause.

Fund raising, mostly through t-shirt sales, was involved in the event.
