Pinkel: Mizzou's Harold Brantley done for the season
HOOVER, A.L. - Missouri Defensive Tackle Harold Brantley will miss the entire 2015 season, Head Coach Gary Pinkel confirmed Wednesday at SEC Media Days.
Brantley and Mizzou women's basketball player Maddie Stock were involved in a single-car accident on Highway 63 near Tom Bass Road on June 21.
The Missouri Highway Patrol said Brantley, who was driving the vehicle, slid off the side of the road around 2 p.m. and hit a guard rail before the car overturned. Neither Brantley nor Stock were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Brantley suffered a broken left leg as well as ligament damage in his left knee during the crash.
Stock escaped with minor injuries.
Coming off a season where he had 54 tackles and five sacks, Mizzou was expecting Brantley to have a big year in 2015 as the anchor of the team's defensive line.
