COLUMBIA - Boone Co. deputies arrested 50-year-old William Cockrell Friday afternoon.

Boone Co. Sheriff's Dept. deputies were called after Cockrell broke the terms of his protection order in the 6500 block of North Brown Station Road.

Deputies said Cockrell showed a black handgun as he moved into a house less than 150 feet from the petitioner's home.

Deputies said they found Cockrell in the 6200 block of Nelson Drive. Cockrell was in possession of drugs, including meth, cocaine, marijuana, and prescription pills. Deputies said the gun was found in Cockrell's vehicle. Cockrell is a previously convicted felon.
