Police Arrest Fourteen at Sobriety Checkpoint
BOONE COUNTY - A sobriety checkpoint Thursday night led to 14 arrests, according to the Boone County Sheriff's Department. The checkpoint, west of Columbia at Obermiller and Roemer roads, stopped 166 vehicles between 7 and 11 p.m.
Sheriff's deputies took in two people for driving while intoxicated, they also arrested six for driving with a suspended license, two for marijuana possession, one for possession of drug paraphernalia, two for no operator's license and one for outstanding warrants. In addition, deputies caught one person with an outstanding summons for a child restraint violation.
The checkpoint was paid for by the Missouri Safety Center and the MoDOT Office of Highway Safety.
