COLUMBIA - The Columbia Police Department arrested serial burglar Wayne McGill on Thursday night.
McGill allegedly assaulted a male victim by threatening him with a knife at The Bridge Bar Thursday night. McGill was arrested on a suspicion of third-degree assault and four counts of second-degree burglary. McGill admitted his involvement in the incidents. His bond was set at $23,000 for all the alleged crimes.
All four burglaries occured Thursday. The first burglary was at Automative Specialist at 1:06 a.m. The second was at Jeff Dungan Insurance Agency at 1:16 a.m. The third was at Fast Signs Store at 10:11 p.m. The fourth was at Plato's Closet between 9:56 p.m. and 11:27.
Police were searching for McGill's marroon vehicle Friday evening. Officers located McGil's vehicle parked in a Motel 6 parknig lot at 1800 I-70 Drive Southwest.
A search warrant was served and items of evidentiary value were located in McGill's vehicle.
In June, officers arrested McGill on three counts of second-degree burglary.
