Police arrest man on suspicion of waving knife in the air after fight
COLUMBIA - Police arrested a man Wednesday night after a fight between him and two others, after which the suspect allegedly waved a knife in the air.
Officers responded to downtown Columbia near Broadway and Hitt Street at around 11:15 for reports of a man yelling racial slurs at two black men as they walked along the street. One witness said she saw Joshua Enloe punch one of the black men in the shoulder, and that led to a brief fight among the three.
After the two black men left the area, the witness said Enloe stood on a corner, waving a knife and yelling threats at people going by. When officers arrived, they saw Enloe had a scrape on his elbow and found a fillet knife in Enloe's pocket.
Officers arrested Enloe, 38, on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon. His bond was set at $4,500.
