Police arrest two men for stealing from a local middle school
COLUMBIA - Columbia police arrested two men Sunday for stealing from West Middle School.
Officers along with a CPD K9 Unit responded to the alarm at 401 Clinkscales Rd. around 12:02 a.m., according to public information officer, Latisha Stroer.
Police found the door to the school unlocked and arrested two men on the scene.
Merrick A. Nunnery, 21, was arrested for damaging an exit sign inside the school, and stealing pencils.
Nunnery has been charged with both Burglarly and Property Damage in the Second Degree. In addition to Stealing Misdemeanor charge.
Michael J. Stewart, 20, was arrested for damaging a fire alarm inside the school and drinking alcohol before entering school property.
Stewart has been charged with Burglarly and Property Damage in the Second Degree, as well as, Minor Purchase /Possess Intoxicating Liquor.
