Missing man with dementia has been found
JEFFERSON CITY - Authorities have canceled an endangered silver advisory for 81-year-old John Christie. Christie has been located safe.
According to the now canceled advisory, he was last seen in the parking lot of his residential care facility, Oak Tree Villas, with his Yorkshire Terrier in Jefferson City Thursday afternoon.
Christie is 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 175 pounds. He has black hair, blue eyes and a fair complexion. He was last seen wearing light tee shirt, blue jeans and slip on shoes.
Christie's diagnosed medical conditions include dementia and a hearing impairment.
His vehicle is a light blue 2010 Chrysler Town and Country van with an Oklahoma license plate, number CPL405. Authorities do not know where he is heading.
Christie recently moved from Oklahoma to Jefferson City and is unfamiliar with this area. Authorities say he becomes confused and easily frustrated.
Anyone who sees Christie or his van, or anyone who has information about him should immediately call 911 to contact the nearest law enforcement agency or call the Jefferson City Police Department at 573-634-6356.
