TEBBETS - Police continue to search for a man in Callaway county they call "dangerous"

The Callaway County sheriff says 31 year old Shaun McGee is still on the loose. The search started in the early hours of Saturday morning, and more than 24 hours later, McGee is still on the loose and considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities are currently looking in the Tebbetts area on the non-river side of Highway 94.

Authorities chased McGee all around this area, including a barn off Country Road 4006, and the post office in downtown Tebbetts.

Authorities say McGee is a white male, about 5'9 and 160 pounds, with brown hair.

He has two tattoos on his neck, a dragon and one that says "Destiny." The barn owner said he found McGee in one of his storage sheds with a living quarters, but wished to be unnamed since McGee is still on the loose. The barn owner said he'd known McGee before, and described him as a "lousy petty criminal."

McGee has been in and out of prison throughout the last decade with charges ranging from assault to drug possession. One of the men who spotted McGee outside of a downtown post office, and tried to apprehend him but was unable to.

According to the owner of the bar next to the post office who witnessed the incident, McGee was buying a soda when the men spotted him, and McGee was not going to go easy.

"He said he wasn't going to be taken alive, so he just started running, ran up the road here, and that's when the highway patrol, sheriff's department and a bunch of them showed up," said bar owner Jim Phillips.

Authorities say McGee has a handgun and is considered dangerous. Anyone who spots him should not approach him, but dial 911 immediately.
