Police Find Meth within 1,000 Feet of Sturgeon Elementary

STURGEON - Police officers arrested two individuals in possession of methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of Sturgeon Elementary School.

The search warrant was carried out at 310 Harris Street Monday morning. According to the Boone County Sheriffs' Department, the search warrant is part of a months long cooperative investigation between them and the Sturgeon Police Department.

The police found more than three ounces of crystal methamphetamine, about $5,100 in cash, and evidence of drug sales including electronic scales and packaging material.

William E. Buckridge, 46, of Sturgeon, was arrested for 1st degree drug trafficking and Jason W. West, 39, of Sturgeon, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Both men may face more penalties because of the residence was within 1000 feet of Sturgeon Elementary School.
