COLUMBIA - The Columbia Police Department identified a man Thursday who they arrested after an attempted burglary on Hanover Boulevard.

Police said they arrested 22-year-old Luster Jordan Jr., of Malden, for burglary in the second degree and resisting or interfering with an arrest felony. Jordan was the driver of a suspect vehicle officers pursued Wednesday afternoon, in connection to an attempted burglary.

Police said suspects broke into a home on the 1700 block of Hanover Boulevard, which was initially unoccupied. When the home's residents returned home, police said the suspects fled, but one of the residents chased after them. Police said that's when the suspects opened fire.

Police said the victims were able to identify a suspect vehicle. At 4:46 p.m., police said they located the car and pursued it before it stopped near the 1600 block of Hanover Boulevard.

Authorities said Jordan fled on foot, but was caught and taken into custody. CPD said Jordan implicated himself in the burglary.

An initial news release Wednesday evening said two suspects were involved in the incident, but police on the scene told KOMU 8 News three suspects were involved. Public Information Officer Latisha Stroer with the Columbia Police Department said Thursday morning police were searching for more than one additional suspect.

Jordan's total bond was set at $9,000.
