Police: Kids impersonating Boys & Girls Club in door-to-door scam
COLUMBIA – The Columbia Police Department announced Wednesday it received several phone calls about juveniles going door-to-door selling items for the Boys and Girls Club.
The department posted on its Facebook page that homeowners reported the juveniles became rude, verbally aggressive and confrontational when they declined to buy anything.
Boys and Girls Club officials said they do not have youth members going door-to-door; however, they do have a campaign selling items out of magazines right now.
Police suggest not letting the juveniles into your home and to ask for their Boys and Girls Club Membership Card if they come to your door.
