COLUMBIA - Police have an updated description for the suspect in Thursday's assault on the MKT Trail near the Forum Boulevard entrance.

Police describe the suspect as a white male between 30 and 40-years-old. He is about 6 feet tall with an average build. He has messy, dark hair about 3 inches long and has dark eyebrows. He's described as having a long pointed nose and was last seen on Thursday wearing a dirty dark jacket, dirty khaki pants and wearing a black or khaki backpack.

Police are also looking for a potential witness to the attack. She is described as a white woman between 40 and 50-years old with a white visor and white compression socks.

A 26-year-old woman was hospitalized after a man attacked her with an object while she was walking on the trail Thursday, hitting her multiple times.

A witness to the attack who spoke with KOMU 8 News said the woman had deep gashes all over her face.

The victim has since been released from the hospital and is in stable condition.
