Police respond to an attempted armed robbery at Douglass Park
COLUMBIA - The Columbia Police Department responded to an attempted armed robbery at Douglass Park Saturday evening.
According to CPD, officers were called to the Columbia park just after 7 p.m. responding to a robbery with a gun. The press release says a male victim was approached by a male suspect in the park. The suspect then showed a handgun to the victim and demanded property. After a brief struggle between the two the suspect ran away west of the park on foot.
According to CPD, there were no injuries and nothing was taken from the victim.
CPD started an investigation Saturday.
