Police Search for Suspects in Armed Robbery Attempt

Columbia - Police are searching for two suspects involved in an attempted armed robbery Sunday evening.

Officers arrived to the 2300 block of Parker Street after two masked suspects fired gunshots and attempted to rob an apartment.

According to a media release, a delivery driver encountered the two suspects upon entering the stairwell of the apartment.

The delivery driver was then motioned to the front door by one of the suspects armed with a handgun. The driver knocked on the door and the male victim stepped outside the apartment. The victim noticed both suspects and stepped back inside the apartment.

The suspects fired four rounds of gunshots. Three shots passed through the door and a fourth struck the door frame. The male victim was struck in the right inner thigh by a bullet but was not transported to a hospital.

The suspects then fled the apartment building and encountered two males in the parking lot. One of the suspects fired two rounds of gunshots. The two males were not injured. The suspects fled the scene on foot.

Both suspects are described as two, 5'8" black males with thin builds wearing bandanna masks. The armed suspect is described to have dreadlocks and was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and jeans. The other suspect was last seen wearing dark clothing.

The Boone County Sheriff's Department K9 unit assisted in tracking the suspects, but the track was unsuccessful.
