Police suggest DWI charge on CPS worker after crash on the job
COLUMBIA - The driver of a Columbia Public Schools truck was arrested and police suggested charging him with a DWI this morning after he veered off the road, split a power line and came to a stop in front of a residence on West Boulevard in Columbia. Jeffrey Cole, a 27-year-old CPS employee, was driving on the wrong side of the road at the time of the accident. He was taken into custody from the scene.
Water and Light crews are working on fixing the power line that was damaged by the truck.
West Boulevard between Lathrop Road and Rollins Road is expected to be closed for most of Tuesday.
