COLUMBIA - The eighth-ranked Mizzou Tigers gymnastics team fell for the first time this season to the Alabama Crimson Tide 197.225 to 195.500.

Mizzou (5-1, 1-1) lost all four apparatuses. The biggest blow came on the uneven bars, when a couple of falls put the Tigers in a hole.

Alabama (1-2, 1-0) gained their first win of the season following tough losses to Oklahoma and LSU. It was a complete team effort as 13 different gymnast competed and none participated in all four events.

It didn't get any easier for the Tigers. Before the last rotation on the floor, the reigning SEC Freshman of the Year Morgan Porter suffered an achilles injury during warmups. She was replaced by Madeleine Huber, who finished with a 9.750 on floor.

Freshman Aspen Tucker was a bright spot for Mizzou. She scored the all-around high score from both teams posting a 39.325.

Britney Ward finished with the high score on vault, but the Tide rolled in the other events. Alabama's Katie Bailey posted the high on the uneven parallel bars, Aja Sims had the high on the balance beam, and Kiana Winston had the best score from the floor.

Mizzou is back in action Friday, Jan. 27, on the road at nationally-ranked Georgia.
