PRAIRIE HOME - Members of the Cooper County Agricultural and Mechanical Society prepared Friday for the final two days of the 96th annual Prairie Home Fair. Friday night, the fair will host its annual four-wheeler rodeo and is expecting several thousand people.
"The last couple years for the four-wheeler rodeo we had right about 160 riders," fair vice president Jeff Baer said. "Friday night is usually our biggest night and Saturday morning they put on a good show."
Baur said that each year, every child who participates in events at the fair receive a dollar and a raffle ticket for a chance to win bicycles.
"It's a small community and everybody participates. It's not just one person. We would like to thank everybody who has helped, right down to the cooks," said board of directors member Jason Dick.
The fair rides run each night until 10:30 p.m. Saturday's events start at 10:30 a.m. with kids activities.
