BIRMINGHAM, AL -- The Southeastern Conference revealed postseason awards on Tuesday before the start of the SEC Tournament. Missouri junior guard Phil Pressey was selected to All-SEC First Team while senior forward Laurence Bowers was named to the Second Team.
Pressey leads the team and the SEC in assists, averaging 7.1 per game. He also averaged 11.9 points in 33.7 minutes per game.
Bowers lead the Tigers in scoring, averaging 14.8 points per game despite missing five games this season due to injury. He also averaged 6.8 rebounds in 26.9 minutes per game. Bowers leads the SEC in field goal percentage (.558) and ranks seventh in scoring (14.8), No. 13 in rebounding (6.3) and is just outside the Top 10 in blocked shots.
The Tigers will start postseason play on Thursday at 9 p.m. against the winner of Texas A&M and Auburn on the SEC Network.
