Previous felon arrested after shots fired on Demaret Drive
BOONE COUNTY- Deputies with the Boone County Sheriff's Department arrested a man with a prior felony conviction Saturday night after responding to a shots fired call.
Sgt. James Perkins said deputies arrested 26-year-old Danny Holmes Saturday after deputies responded to complaints of shots being fired in the 700 block of Demaret Drive around 9:05 p.m.
Perkins said residents reported hearing two shots being fired, and when deputies arrived, Holmes was intoxicated and in possession of a reportedly stolen handgun.
Anyone with a prior felony conviction is prohibited from possessing a handgun.
Perkins said deputies arrested Holmes for receiving stolen property and unlawful use and possession of a weapon.
Holmes was in the Boone County Jail on a $13,500 bond as of Sunday afternoon.
Perkins said no one reported any injuries to deputies.
