Probation for Washington County administrator
POTOSI (AP) - The public administrator of Washington County has been sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to Medicaid abuse.
The office of Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster said Katherine O'Neail pleaded guilty Thursday to Medicaid abuse. O'Neail, who was elected public administrator of Washington County in 2012, was also ordered to leave her job.
The attorney general's office said in a release that the crimes occurred before she was elected. The office said O'Neail was accused of taking $13,000 from a resident trust fund at Georgian Gardens Nursing Center in Potosi, where she worked as business manager.
The office said O'Neail's suspended three-year prison sentence depends on whether she completes five years of supervised release and repays the money.
